Natural light is crucial in an office setting. It can make employees feel happier and more motivated and it can even boost their productivity! Because of this, you should do what you can to increase the availability of natural light in the office.

Of course, there’s only so much you can do if you don’t plan on breaking down walls or adding new windows to your business layout. You can’t literally increase the natural light in your office, but you can enhance it.

Make sure you’re not covering any windows with furniture. Try to make sure that everyone (who wants one) has a window nearby. Use mirrors to reflect light so it bounces around the room.

3. Try a Flexible Seating Arrangement

If your employees are in a traditional cubicle setup, or if they have any type of assigned seats, consider a flexible seating arrangement.

Flexible seating arrangements revolve around the idea that employees should have the freedom to sit wherever is most comfortable for them and works best with their workflow. This can change day-to-day.

Perhaps employees from one department want to collaborate with employees from another department. With flexible seating, this isn’t a problem.

Employees who prefer to work alone can do so. Employees who are able to chat and still get work done can do that as well. Experiment with it and see if it works for you.

4. Don’t Forget Decor Items

Many business owners forget to invest in decorations for the office. You can have the best furniture and the newest technology, but without decorations, your office will feel drab and bare.

Consider adding some local artwork to the walls. Add some greenery by bringing in plants and placing them near the windows. Invest in a few nice rugs.
